make pals

not plastic

We’re a nature-loving lot, and we’re proud that our packaging doesn’t hurt the planet. We know we’re not perfect (yet). But it’s a paw in the right direction.

Besides our sustainable packaging, we're stepping up to do more for the planet. Meet our Zero Pawprint Plan, our strategy to make a positive impact on the planet by 2025.

Our bags are made from plants

Standing up for nature

We’re the first pet food brand with a full range of bags made from biodegradable materials - which means they’ll break down naturally.

Nature’s renewables

Because plants grow in the soil, when they’re managed well they can be a renewable resource. What’s more, they remove CO2 from the atmosphere as they grow. We use two plant-based materials to make our bags.

Our tins and cups are made from metal

The world’s most recycled material

Compared to other materials, recycling metal is easy. For example, 75% of all aluminium used since 1888 is still in use today. That’s because it doesn’t degrade after each use, and because you’re so good at putting it in the right bin.

Metal locks in
nutrients for longer

We love our tins and cups because they keep food fresh for AGES. Thanks to metal’s natural preservative properties, our food stays full of nutritional goodness for 24 months - which also helps reduce food waste.

Which bin?

Here’s a guide to show you exactly what to do with our kibble bags.

Yes

Landfill doesn’t provide the best conditions for composting our bags – but it’ll always be faster than plastic, with none of the harmful by-products!

Certification pending

Our Industrial Composting Certificate is due early 2021. But we’d still like you to check what you can put in your green bin.

No

Our kibble bags are designed to break down into water, CO2 and compost - rather than be recycled into new bags.

No

Home composting is a slow and seasonal process, and we’d hate to mess up your system. One day, maybe.

No

Because metal doesn’t degrade, putting it in landfill is a huge waste of valuable resources.

What's next?

We’re really proud of our packaging but we know there’s more we can do. Over the next year, we’ll find new ways to improve our impact through our Zero Pawprint Plan.
